Man, it's good to blog again. I'm all tired from rehearsals.
Now that Imperial's Malaysian Night is just one week away, rehearsals are tense than ever. For the past few weeks, the crews and casts contributed at least 40% of their weekly time rehearsing (that includes rehearsals everyday after lectures, Wednesday being the most and rehearsing at Saturday and Sunday from 11am til 7pm every week!). It's crazy, I know, and I guess no one at our year has ever been through that much rehearsals since they were still inside mummy's belly.
After MNight, I could see myself fly freely :D. But it will be all back to work and assessments, and I wont like it D: . I've missed quite few lectures and tutorials just to get to rehearsals on time, and as a result screwed up a few exams and projects.
Crazy huh? Skipping lectures and stuff, why should do that for the sake of MNight?
The production costs at least £12,000, and expecting to hit £13,500. And since of the global credit crunch, most of our major sponsors decided it wasn't the best time and pulled out from the sponsorship agreement. The Imperial Malaysian Society's committee members went through a heck lots of trouble just to get enough money to uphold the production. The rest of the crews and I knew this, so we make our best effort to attend whatever rehearsals there are just to make every penny from the sponsors worth. Of course, not many of the crews thought it that way, and they ended up being late or never turn up for weeks. In return, giving more trouble to the performance managers and wasting more time trying to get everyone on the same pace.
To make things worse, Imperial Malaysian Society needs to uphold the reputation of having the best Malaysian Night performance than the rest of the university in the UK. I dare say we're better than Cambridge and Oxford, and most people from other universities said so.
Here's the official website of our Imperial Malaysian Night 2009. http://www.icmnite.com
Well, better get back to finishing up lab reports D:

lol... it's a good thing u r so active in the malaysian society there...
i'm not at all in mine. ):
hoho.. here, i joined.. paid the joining fee, never went for anything, never helped in anything xD not like they do much anyway. eg. their merdeka celebration was just a clubbing event.
Amanda: Hahaha, during first term, I wasn't planning on participating it. But it was the one thing that all the Malaysians work together and be together, and it was the one and only time of the 4 years. It's all fun, hahaha. You can say I'm a proud Malaysian and proud of Malaysia! Just not proud of the government.
CJ: It's always nice to participate something. You won't get anything in return la, but it always feels good when you have committed something for the society :P
